Demographic Study of the 580 and 880 Corridors
- CHASR recently commissioned a demographic analysis of the Cal Trans 580 Truck Access study area to better understand who lives in close proximity to the highways.
Promote Clean Air Initiatives that Reduce Air Pollution
- Promote dialogue among elected officials, public agencies, and local citizens to encourage real clean air initiatives that stop pollution at its source. Spreading harm is not an effective solution to air quality degradation in our region.
- Below are just a few clean air investments that will have long term impacts to our region’s air quality that do not result in the spread of pollution.
- Greening and roadway infrastructure projects that reduce air pollution in communities impacted by highway related air quality degradation
- Fully zero-emission operations at the Port of Oakland
- Truck-only lanes on 880 and 238 that incentivise electric truck use and reduce idling
- Indirect Source Rules to regulate truck traffic and local air pollution generated by warehouse activity
- Expansion of low-emission rail to move goods
- Regulatory and technological solutions to reduce tire particulate emissions
